This
chapter will provide you with the information you need to know in order to log
in, create a list, and start using your LBGIE™ account right now. You
will find only a brief over-view here, though, so be sure to see additional
chapters for detailed explanations of all of LBGIE’s™
features.

Figure 1‑1
In order
to enter LBGIE™, you will need to know your Login Name and Password. If
you forget your password, click on the "Forgot Password?" button on
the Login page to be taken to the password retrieval form. From there you
can request that your login information be emailed to you.
To have your
login information emailed, you will still need to know your Login Name.
You will have received this information when you created your account. If
you experience trouble logging in, or are unsure of your Login Name, please
contact LBGIE™ Customer Service at 888-546-5631.
LBGIE™ is
designed so that once you are logged in, your session will never “time
out.” This means that as long as you do not close your browser window, it
is possible to maintain access to the application without having to re-enter
your login information. Even if you leave the LBGIE™ site, your session
can be accessed by clicking the browser’s “Back” button.
By using
the Log Out feature you can ensure that nobody else will be able to access your
LBGIE™ account if you need to step away from your computer. To do this,
select “Home Control Panel – Log Out” from the drop-down menu.
The first
time you log in to LBGIE™, your screen will look like Figure 1-2:

Figure 1‑2
The first
step in using LBGIE™ is to create a list with which to work. To do this,
click on the button in the left frame labeled "Create List."
You will now see the form shown in Figure 1-3:

Figure 1‑3
Enter the
name of your new list in the text box. This should be something
descriptive that will indicate to both you and your subscribers the nature of
future mailings.
Don't
worry that you will be permanently locked into the name you choose. You
will be able to modify the List Name at any time. For more information on
modifying a list name, see Managing Lists: List Settings.
If you
have only one list, it will be automatically selected for you. If you
create more than one list, you will need to select the one with which you
intend to work. All of your lists, along with the number of subscribers
for each, will appear in the left frame. To select a list, simply click
on its name. You will see the name of the list appear in the upper left
corner of the screen.

Always
check this area to verify you are working with the desired list before making
any changes or sending a message.
Also,
whenever you have more than one list, the page that will appear in the main
frame after login in will look slightly different. You will now see a
“Welcome Back” message and instructions to select a list from the left
frame. You must select a list in order to gain access to LBGIE’s™ full menu system.
The
Control Panel serves as LBGIE’s™ "Home Base,”
and is the first page you will see after selecting a list with which to
work. It is designed to help you decide which page contains the
functionality you are looking for by providing you with a brief description of
each of LBGIE’s™ main sections.

Figure 1‑5
Once you
have logged in and selected a list with which to work, the drop-down menus will
become visible.

Figure 1‑6
These
menus provide a convenient way to navigate around the LBGIE™ site. All of
the functions are grouped under the appropriate menu category. If you are
ever unsure of how to locate the page you are looking for, simply roll your
pointer over the menus at the top of your screen and click on the description
that best describes your needs. Alternatively, if you click one of the
main menu buttons you will be taken to a mini control panel for the functions
associated with that topic. For example, clicking the menu button labeled
"Manage Lists" will take you to the page shown in Figure 1-7:

Figure 1‑7
Here you
will get a brief explanation of each sub-category to help you decide which page
contains the functionality for which you are looking.
